Guiltless Pear Pleasure!

This recipe is from Dr. Michael Greger's How Not to Diet Cookbook. It is a delicious treat that is yummy as the pears have a splash of a ginger, lemon, date syrup sauce.


Ingredients:

2 pears sliced down the middle

1 TBSP date syrup

1 tsp. ginger powder

1TBSP fresh lemon juice


Directions:

  1. Slice the pears horizontally and scoop out the seeds from the middle of each

  2. Combine the date syrup, ginger powder and lemon juice ( you may need to microwave for 10 seconds to mix them thoroughly

  3. Pour in center of each pear

  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
